5 ways to use Instagram for sales

When potential users visit your Instagram profile to learn more about your business, your bio is the first thing they'll see.


Since Instagram BIOs are limited to just 150 characters, you have to be very creative to capture everything you want your potential users to read about you. On the other hand, this is a great thing because it teaches you how to present yourself in a short and concise way – the so-called “elevator pitch”.


For example, you can start by writing a short introduction to your business. Describe the services you offer or the products you sell, and the benefits your business offers. Use keywords that potential customers would type when searching for your brand or businesses similar to yours.


To increase your chances of being found in search results, include hashtags in your Instagram BIO . For example, you can include your brand hashtag or a hashtag you use for user-generated content (UGC) .


If you have a few characters left, add a short call to action (CTA) to your Instagram Bio. For example, you can direct potential users to click on a link that takes them to your website or to a page where they can sign up for your newsletter.

#3 : Link from Instagram Stories

#4 : Set up an Instagram shop


If your business has an online store or the ability to sell products online, it's even easier to generate conversions on Instagram. To set up an Instagram store, you'll first need to connect your Instagram business account to your Facebook business page.


Next, you connect your product catalog to your Instagram account. You can do this by integrating your existing Shopify or BigCommerce account, or you can create a catalog in Commerce Manager (part of Business Manager).


Once Instagram reviews your product catalog and approves your account, you can start using the shopping feature. This means you can tag products every time you post something, either through an Instagram Story or with a regular post.


When your followers see tagged products, they can click on the Shopping icon or on individual products to see details like product names, product images, or price. From there, they can go back immediately or click to visit your online store and make a purchase.
