Why was the no-confidence motion brought?

Post by mostakimvip04 »

On June 2nd, a motion of no confidence against the Kan Cabinet was rejected. Criticism arose from the disaster-stricken areas, asking, "Why are they fighting over something at this time?" However, I believe that the quickest way to rebuild Tohoku is for the Kan Cabinet to step down immediately. The reason for this huge difference in attitude between the disaster-stricken areas and Nagatacho is the grandstanding of Prime Minister Naoto Kan.

Despite gasoline being in the national stockpile, it is not reaching the disaster area. I have pointed out this issue in a previous article in this series as a lack of leadership on the part of Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kaieda Banri, who was unable to arrange tank trucks, but in the end it was opposition LDP member of the House of Representatives Nikai Toshihiro who delivered the gasoline to the disaster area. Nikai quickly contacted industry groups and connected the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry with the disaster area. This has been testified to by multiple people involved, but Nikai has not openly boasted about his achievements. If Prime Minister Naoto Kan also takes this stance, bureaucrats will decide to sacrifice their lives for him. However, if he is only concerned with his own survival, taking credit for his subordinates and yelling at them, people will lose their hearts. If he is obsessed with PR, such as shutting down the Hamaoka nuclear power plant, the Prime Minister's visit, and solar power generation, he will receive recognition on the spot. However, he will not be able to move forward with political matters one step at a time. Over the past few months, Nagatacho and Kasumigaseki have been forced to remove background image face the reality of Suga's character. That is why they submitted a motion of no confidence.

Prime Minister Kan became Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare in 1996, and gained widespread media attention through the drug-induced AIDS and radish sprouts scandals. This time, I would like to reveal the truth about Prime Minister Kan's only "glorious era." It was at this time that the prototype of his grandstanding was created.

The drug-induced AIDS lawsuits began to attract attention in the mass media after Ryuhei Kawada (currently a member of the House of Councillors) made his name public as one of the plaintiffs when he was still a teenager in 1995. At the time, the LDP-Sakigake coalition government was in power, and the person in charge of handling the case was Tadayoshi Morii, Minister of Health and Welfare from the Japan Socialist Party (now the Social Democratic Party).

Minister Morii regarded this incident as the biggest crisis since the establishment of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and searched for documents related to the drug-induced AIDS that had disappeared, walking around the ministry every day when he had a little free time. Impressed by the minister's sincere attitude, even the bureaucrats who could have put themselves at a disadvantage began to cooperate.
